Dr. Roger Blakeway, President of the SCTE:
Founded in 1945, the SCTE (Society for broadband Professionals) is an organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunication industry.
The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in this field.
SCTE training courses have achieved wide acceptance as the standard for young technicians wishing to enter the field of broadband telecommunications and for those whishing to advance their knowledge and career prospects. They are used in-house by a number of operating companies and SCTE engineers can be found working in a variety of international organisations all over the world.
As learned Society, SCTE is able to provide accreditation and certification for its members, giving them professional standing within the industry. Full Members and Fellows are allowed to use the designations MSCTE and FSCTE after their names. Technicians may also add TSCTE and we added a new student membership category last year.
SCTE members will receive the quarterly Broadband journal and full Members' handbook and benefit from a range of various international networking opportunities, including lecture meetings (where the latest technical developments in the field are discussed), dinners, evening events, conferences/exhibitions and the latest standards updates. The Society chairs the British Standards Committee for cable systems and represents the UK at European (CENELEC) and world (IEC) levels.
Become a member, or patron member (for supporting companies), of the SCTE today and help us to broaden broadband's horizons across the world.
HMConsult is the SCTE representative for the Balkan.

To offer the SCTE values in Serbia and to support memberships, further efforts will be directed at investigating the opening of an office in Belgrade to ensure a more permanent presence in the Serbian market.
